Another lively bunch from Kent’s litter is the Pop- Rock, quick-witted Get Inuit. Signed to Alcopop! Records, Get Inuit have just concluded their run of festivals this summer, including performances at Radio 1’s Big Weekend and Bestival. With their new EP ‘Luge Lessons’ marked for release on 16th October, which will include latest singles ‘I Am The Hot Air’ and ‘Electrify’; which recently was selected as BBC Introducing in Kent’s ‘Record Of The Week’, the group have no doubt got their eyes cast on the future.
Combining catchy riffs, solid bass tones and tireless vocals, what isn’t there to revel in?
We caught up with them and asked a few classic questions…
We are… Get Inuit (Get Inu-wot m8?)
Jamie, Rob, Dreamboat and James. Four Painter/Decorators from Brunswick, New South Wales, that happen to play and live in Kent.
We sound like…
Kids that ate Coco Pops when Coco Pops were a new thing, Fuzz Pedals, Tape Delays, massive drums; histrionics.
(Weezer, Blur, Fidlar and Harribo sweets).
The funny this about us is…
Nothing, we commandeer humour from other sources and via use of heavy repetition, we make ourselves laugh.
When we play we like to…
Concentrate on not throwing up/ pump up the jams and marmalades/bring the noise.
Our best song is…
‘Luge Lessons’ as a whole EP. If you count four separate songs played in a row as one song. We do. Deal with it.
