Thursday 16th February 2017
Following from our fantastic ‘Power Duo’ event on January 18th, Artrocker Presents is back at The Finsbury on Thursday 16th February.
With DJ’s Stu Plimsoles & Paul Artrocker setting the tone for the evening, Artrocker present the following exciting acts;
WE THREE AND THE DEATH RATTLE
We Three and the Death Rattle do not sound British, but do not sound false either. This bluesy, fast paced garage-rock can hold it’s own against The Gun Club.
We Three and The Death Rattle, a young, British three piece of a similar ilk to The White Stripes and Queens of the Stoneage. The trio definitely pack a punch, made all the more powerful by lead vocalist Isobel Campbell,
Over the past few years the distortion-fuelled 3 piece have shared stages with The Kills, Craig Finn of the Hold Steady, Bo Ningen, The Wytches, Shonen Knife, Come, Josh T Pearson, Slaves and David Lynch’s new favourite muse, Chrysta Bell. WTATDR were hand-picked by Josh T Pearson and ATP to appear at London’s Barbican venue for ‘ATP presents: an evening with Josh T Pearson’. https://www.wethreeandthedeathrattle.com/
London lo-fi synth duo. Both twee and melodic, abrasive and disturbing.
The combination of somewhat primitive synth with punky rock ‘n’ roll melodies is irresistibly reminiscent of Suicide (especially the poignant Suicide of ‘Dream Baby Dream’ et al),
In the end, what Sex Cells really have is great, simple, gut-level pop songs, and like all great pop artists they know exactly when to end them; they are short, sweet ‘n’ sour and leave you wanting more. https://nightmarehall.tumblr.com/
Influenced by West Coast psych and garage bands from the 60s and 70s, they have shared the stage with
Temples, Lola Cult, The Shivas, The Milk and Triptides. Already the band has been tipped by BBC6
radio, played by legend Steve Lamacq!
Last year the band stormed two acclaimed European festivals, opening on a solo
show for ‘Purple Weekend’ (León Spain) to a packed out venue at The Museo de Arte Contempo
ráneo de Castilla’ and ‘Gambeat Festival’ (Barcelona).
