Following great success at Glastonbury and other British festivals around the summer, the Bristol Festival Community Group (Brisfest) has teamed up with “Arcadia Spectacular”, a local performance art collective, to bring their extravagant spider spectacular to Queen Square in the heart of Bristol this September
Measuring 65 feet high and weighing 50 tonnes the gargantuan metal creature evokes images of H. G. Wells War of the Worlds. Oh did I say, it also shoots fire and laser beams from its head?
If this wasn’t enough, the show will include some of the country’s best live performers, on Friday the 4th of September we have: Roni Size Reprazent, Leftfield (DJ set) and Congo Natty (featuring Congo Dubz and Tenor Fly). Followed the next day are BBC Radio 1 DJs Annie Mac and Monki, as well Eats Everything and Gotsome.
Fans of Drum ‘n’ Bass, Jungle, Electronic, House and Techno are well catered for.
Described as “fusing recycled military hardware, sculpture, acrobatics, performance, engineering, architecture, immersion, and bass into a primal unity” the show promises to be an event to remember.
